Paddy Verdon RIP

(November 14, 2013)

For those of you (and I know there are a few) who may be watching your inbox for any ‘funnies’ from Pat, I am sorry to say there will be no more.  Pat died very peacefully yesterday afternoon, 13th November 2013 with his family by his bed.  After his diagnosis last year, we did not expect to have these extra months which have been full of fun for the most part, and we both agreed we had been granted a real bonus.

Being the organized person he was, I was given an email list for notifying anyone who might be interested in the news, so please forgive me if this is a duplication as I know some of you are already in possession of some details.

Pat’s life will be celebrated on Friday 29th November at 2.45pm at Randalls Road Crematorium, Leatherhead.  Pat was insistent that it be made clear the event will be a ‘tasteless tie’ or regimental tie event (no black ties, or long faces please), family flowers only and donations to Macmillan Cancer Support Charity No: 261017.  Further details will follow, but it seems to take a very long time to get through all the red tape and organization.  However, as Pat himself arranged a few things, we are getting there.  For those of you who wish to help us celebrate such a humorous and colourful character’s life please join us on the 29th.  If any old comrades have any amusing short anecdotes about Pat’s life they would like to share (and are suitable for sharing), we would love to hear from you.
